Your contribution helps those involved in the criminal justice system rebuild their lives. Financial support, jobs for our clients, gently used clothing or household supplies and volunteer energy are all very welcome.

Consider a Bequest or Other Planned Gift
Joining The Fortune Society’s Legacy Circle can help you make a continuing and lasting contribution to Fortune’s good work. Many of our supporters have remembered Fortune in their wills through bequests of property or a percentage of their estate. Gifts can be stated in your will as follows:

"I give and bequeath to The Fortune Society, Inc., 29-76 Northern Blvd., Long Island City, NY 11101, the sum of $___ to be used for its general purposes."
or
"I give, devise and bequeath to The Fortune Society, Inc., 29-76 Northern Blvd., Long Island City, NY 11101, for its general purposes [state a fraction or percentage] of the rest, residue and remainder of my estate, both real and personal."

Either of these clauses should, of course, be adapted by your lawyer to fit your individual circumstances.

For information about making a bequest to The Fortune Society, please contact Aziz Dehkan, Associate Vice President of Development and Communications, at adehkan@fortunesociety.org or 212-691-7554 x215.

Make an In-Kind Donation
Those who seek assistance from The Fortune Society are motivated to rebuild their lives, but many lack the basic necessities to do so. Gifts of clean, gently used clothing, books and furniture are always appreciated.

To make an in-kind donation, please contact Aziz Dehkan, Associate Vice President of Development and Communications, at adehkan@fortunesociety.org or 212-691-7554 x215.

Volunteer your time and/or lend your expertise
The Fortune Society welcomes volunteers who are willing to share their skills with our clients. Opportunities are designed to accommodate your schedule and can include activities like responding to prisoner mail or teaching a class. Volunteer tutors are asked to make a minimum commitment of two 2-hour sessions a week, but there are many other volunteer opportunities with more flexible requirements. If you have a special talent, chances are we can find a way to use it.

To learn more about volunteering at The Fortune Society, please contact
Denise Dalton at ddalton@fortunesociety.org / 212-691-7554 x210.
