The Fortune Society is committed to changing the general public’s perception of incarcerated and newly released individuals through education and advocacy. One of the most effective ways we have found of delivering this important message is through public celebrations, media appearances and educational salons. These occasions often allow the men and women we work with to speak for themselves – thereby helping us change the public’s perception of former prisoners. With every public appearance we demonstrate the potential of this population to become productive, contributing members of society.
