The Fortune Society believes strongly in the importance of attaching a human face to prison issues. Although there are over 2 million individuals currently incarcerated in the United States, the lives and concerns of these men and women rarely make the evening news. By placing a spotlight on this under-represented population, Fortune hopes to initiate a national conversation on prison advocacy and reform.
